NC Hip-Hop...
North Carolina, a state hip-hop is not necessarily known for but would like to be IN so badly. A state where artists complain, debate and argue about why North Carolina isnt "ON" yet. Some may argue that unity is what holds North Carolina back from being one of the states in the conversation when it comes to talks about music. Others believe we just do not have the talent to support the claim. In truth, there is no one reason why NC is never looked at as a state that houses talent. Lets think about it, J. Cole, Fantasia and Petey Pablo, to name a few, have shared some success. The issue is that there hasnt been a consistent amount of "good" talent in our state. So where is it?
Is it that the people with the connection are not as talented as other states? Is is that the people with the resources to make it dont lend helping hands? The debate will go on for years. The best thing for artists to do is follow what makes them unique. To get caught up in worthless discussions about "hip-hop" is useless. Do You and Do It To The Best Of Your Ability, for as long as you are satisfied with yourself, life is worth living.
