Adrenaline Rushes, The Crowd Screams, Then...

There's something about performing for people that gives me a feeling otherwise obscene. The screams of fans and people who know nothing of me, but like what they hear. The indirect exercise created by jumping around, moving wildly, and yelling. I guess everyone has something that makes them feel that way, something that makes them happy always. No matter what mood Im in, rocking a crowd always makes my day. Greene St Club was no different Friday, August 27, 2010. When facing a crowd of over 250 people, LGi takes the stage and impresses. Im not sure if its the attention and acknowledgement that I love more, or the fact that I actually write what I perform. I mean people really emjoy seeing us. This is what drives me. As long as I have people listening, I will not stop. And if I dont stop, Im only going to improve and move higher up the ladder. For this is the essence of who I am...

Day B4 Performances

The day before a performance is always a busy one for me. There's outfit shopping and general preparation for the show. Appearance is a good portion of how you are viewed by your fans and potential fans, so finding an outfit that is fresh and noticeable is key. I always start with the shoes. Picking the shoes I am going to where helps me place an image in my head of what I am looking for. Next, I pick the color shirt I want to accent with the shoes. The shirt should be used as a representation of who you are, therefore, promoting you as a performer. I usually have my performance shirts custom made with my label and name, along with twitter info. Gotta love twitter!!! Then depending on how I am feeling, I may accesorize. I accesories range from hats, to watches, to anything else that I think stands out or looks appealing. There you have, all done with the outfit part of the day.

The next part of the day consists of going over show mixes for the performance. This is just a fail safe plan for not having a cd at the performance that does not play your music. I like to go over movements that would possible look good on stage also, along with, finalizing times that me and the group would meet up tomorrow.

Next, I relax. This can be accomplished in a number of different ways. Mostly, I just do something I enjoy doing followed by a good nights rest. And there you have it. I am now ready for the big day. I'm always thinking of ways to make my performances better though. I look at what I think makes a performance great and I integrate it into my own personal routine best I can. What do you all think makes a performance good and memorable? I leave this question for you all. I hope to hear you opinions/comments. Until next time, Peace!!!

Image: Defining A Person

A site manager looks in a room full of possible candidates to fill an open position. All candidates are clothed in suit and tie except one guy, who wears tennis shoes and a tee. Immediately, the person with the shoes and tee is disqualified from the position before the manager looks at credentials or ask the standard interview questions. This person may have been the most qualified person at the interview. He may have had prior experience in the field, along with creditable references, but his attire puts him at a disadvantage.

Is society too stuck in it's ways? Personally, I do not think you should judge a book by it's covers. Sometimes bad things happen to good people, likewise, sometimes good people do bad things. The site manager I discussed could have very well been in the same situation as the tee and tennis shoes guy, if occurances in his life turned out differently. What truly measures a person's abilities, personality, and heart? Is it how they dress or how good of a first impression is left? Or is it honest and loyalty? I wanna know your opinion.

Just like always, I ended this blog incomplete. I really want my readers (when I actually gain some, lol) to leave their opinions, insight, etc. This will help me write better blogs in the future and give me something to debate about. Until next time, Peace Out... Stacks

Faith: Believing Without Seeing

I originally was going to write my next post about my time spent last night in Chapel Hill, NC, but I have had a change of heart. (btw, I had a blast) Instead, today's post will be about "faith." The ability to believe in a concept or a set of ideas is a talent that many people do not have. Leaping before looking, Why is this so hard to do? It's known that the people who take chances; the people who act in faith, that something good will come from the things he/she is doing, are rewarded in the end. But it is the sacrifice that drives people wild. No One Wants To Sacrifice. No One Wants To Take A Loss. Let's think about this for a second. Personally, I would rather take a loss for something I believe in and lose, than to keep myself bound to the box that this society puts its citizens in.

Go for the guarantee!!!! Also known as playing it safe. Something I do not agree with. There are benefits for playing it safe, but can you truly be happy taking the safe way out, which is not neccesarily the route you really wanted to take. Being a teacher over an actor. An astronaunt over a college professor. Is it too hard of a concept to go out on faith? The fear of the unknown drives us all wild. But it is those of us that conquer our fears that accomplish great things in life.

Knowing this is a topic that will be debated and discussed for years and years, I will leave you guys with a question.
Is overcoming your fear of faith and leaping head first off a cliff worth the benefits, or do the disadvantages outweigh the advantages?

First Post Ever!!!!!!

Story of my life!!! Im never the one to discover new trends, invent new things, etc. Same goes for blogging. How can something that has been around forever not have been brought to my attention until now. Beats me... Any who, were here now, and I am here now. So Im sending my first blog as a discretional (not sure if thats a word) message. Im new to blogging, so if i send a comment or write a blog that is out of place, blame in on the definition of what a beginner is and not on me as a person. Thanks!!!!
